Frank was one of John and Leonardo's closest friends during their time at university, where it was common knowledge that when there was a party with John, Frank would be around as well. He would've seemed to be older than John and Leo, if not for John already looking too mature because of his own traumatic past, and Leo's constantly exhausted and uncaring look, he did not stand out.

What not many people knew, is that Frank struggled financially more than most, and soon before he attended the university, he got ahold of a small fortune, which allowed him to live freely and happier, but it did not satisfy his mother

His mother, a single mom who refused to talk about his father, raised him and stayed with him, and he felt immense gratefulness towards her, and never forgot to let her know where he would be if he didn't come home, and always made sure she has fresh groceries and anything she asked for.

She was a natural blonde, however Frank was mixed and inherited his father's dark brown hair, so he bleached and dyed it as often as possible to be his mother's shade, including his beard and eyebrows.

After Leo and John moved to the Capital City, he often took the train to visit (it was only half an hour ride), and followed them in their pursuit of fighting matches, which he even started earlier than John returned to it, to help John's new friend Harry train. While John refused at first, feeling pride and disgust towards fighting at first, Frank immediately agreed and found passion in it. He would be flirty with Harry, but to no avail, for he'd fallen in love with John already.

When John and his group left for Fireville, he was not part of the plan, and stayed behind. He did not elaborate on where he ended up, when he showed up at John's place when they returned. He became more and more estranged, and less friendly, even towards Harry, whom he had no quarrel with.
