Nevaeh grew up with the royal Huds family, and has four older sisters. Queen Seraphina (1st, age 42), Princess Nadiya (2nd, age 39), Princess Emeline (3rd, age 36), Princess Lysandra (4th, age 35). Mother Princess Gwendolen and father King Theodore.

Nevaeh lost her left arm below the elbow in her first job after finishing studying Automation and Design of Mechanical Pets, where she was at low position within her first few months, and out of recklesness and lack of awareness of the machines, she managed to get her hand stuck in machine that processed source, making the wound unhealable, despite doctors inducing clinical death twice.

She got a mechanical arm installed, and had to stay in hospitals or home for over two years.

During these two years, she decided to pursue gender affirming treatment, reasoning the timing to be "if I can't go anywhere or do anything for months I might as well go through the changes now."

The arm did not take, in the end, and Nevaeh has to make an effort every day to keep it painless and working with her magic.

When she and Iris met, it was about 2 years since her accident and her accident is the time when she started transitioning. Iris did not notice the mechanical arm, she doesn't have eye for that.

Nev's family was not necessarily against her transitioning, but she always got the idea that if she was older/more likely to be the next heir, they wouldn't be so passive about it. She only had somewhat warm relationship with the second youngest sister Lys, whom supported her fully and helped her when she needed it the most.

Seraphina was always prepared to be the queen, and as soon as she married, she took the throne from their father Theodore, with all parties agreeing.

Sera agreed with Iris about many things concerning Nev, such as that she isn't responsible, that she shouldn't have left and that the military (serving the queen) would've taken care of her better, and that her petty needs are less important than staying safe.

She met Iris when her arm felt comfortable enough, and she was having trouble figuring out what job she'd like to do. She picked up coding and programming as hobby and online learned it during her time at home, and was looking to implement that in a way. She also yearned to explore space, but knew she would not have the knowledge of biology and physics and humanitarian sciences that explorers need, but hoped they'd need coders for the ship itself.

The first date with Iris was somewhat awkward, but they found each other endearing, and Iris hid that she is a soldier at first to not scare her off, but eventually suggested that they do need pilots and mechanics, possibly navigators for the Space Soldiers divisions. Nevaeh agreed to try, and was found to be very quick to learn and efficient. She was also persuaded because if she was just navigator, she wouldn't be allowed to go out if needed, but if she also had solider training, she could.

She even went out of her way to invest in magical tattoos that would highlight and help with navigating stars.
