The Universe
The world is set in Central Europe, in a time after the civilization had already perfected technology and machinery of automatization and had failed. It's post Golden Age era, where there are only ruins of long forgotten architecture and hubris, and creatures that had came out of it. The vampires that live within and outside of the cities are only born of getting bit by other vampires, and no one remembers or knows who the first one was. There are Hunters, people whose bodies have been augmented and adjusted to hunting vampires and other monsters speficially, giving them longer life span, better reflexes, adjusting some of their body parts too. The werewolves in this society are rather peaceful traveling tribes, who mostly fight within each other. They live alongside humans if they can, they do not need to hunt them, but they'd rather not endanger them.
This setting is a very heavily adjusted and re-imagined world of Destiny, including only parallels that I saw fit and liked. It's post its prime era, where only scattered remains of old technology remain, the ruins of earth and its buildings, post-apocalypse where the Golden Age is unimaginable anymore. All Guardians mentioned, either my ocs or real NPCs are vampires, eliksni characters are werewolves, and vampire hunters are anyone capable of killing a guardian. There is mention of the Dark Age, when vampires started awakening, and the Tyrant God's vampire son who was never alive - a homunculus. The Tyrant God, an AI brain which once helped humans during the Golden Age era, and his son are parallel to Rasputin warmind and Felwinter.
Miis
Miis is leader, also called Kell of the tribe of werewolves that live nearby Phoenix's forest, and are friendly towards humans in nearby villages and towns. He sought out help of vampires after he was saved by few of them in past, and hoped they were sensible enough to help him. His people were not enough in numbers to defend themselves from other clans, and vampires had always been able to defend themselves from werewolves.
He met with Phoenix during seeking of this help, and the two grew close.
John
John is one of Phoenix's oldest friends, they used to hunt together a lot, and John would always drag Phoenix to towns and cities he'd explored on his own.
He met with Bas after helping Miis, and was intrigued by his unusual condition - he was a werewolf that happened to get bit by vampire, and his sire had let him live, and turned him into a vampire. He wanted to help him, and taught him the basics of surviving off blood. They grew close, and eventually committed a ceremony similar to marriage.
Bas
Bas is a werewolf that used to be personal guard of Miis, whom he's met after he sought out help of vampires. He vowed to protect him, and even after his own turning, he would always be loyal and would do anything for his Kell.
He fell in love with John as soon as they met. Bas was quite intimidating to other vampires, but John managed to pin him to the ground, despite his smaller stature, and was excited to spend more time with him. He felt the loyalty to his own people, and while in his eyes they were both his people, the werewolves were more vulnerable.
Nastya
Nastya is a very young vampire, who was turned and taught by John. She was excited for her new life, and is maybe a bit too eager to kill and hunt.
Eido
Eido is Miis' adopted daughter, and she takes care of provisions and deciding where the clan should move.
Veer
Veer is a young werewolf that was abandoned by enemy tribes, and discovered by Bas, who took him back to his own, and took care of him as father, together with John.
Hrefna
Hrefna used to be a girl who grew up on the edge of the City, who was more interested in forest and nature nearby. During one of her trips, she was caught by a vampire who lived in the city, and would watch her ocassionally. He was interested in her romantically, and forced her to turn to spend her life with him. She did it by premise of being able to escape. She was not powerful enough to take care of him, but took the opportunity when other vampries were in their church.
She attacked Phoenix, and in her regret, asked him to help her, and he helped her kill her sire. She then joined him in his castle. She took the basement he had not used and turned it into potion making chamber, where she'd keep herbs and vegetables and fruit seeds. After learning the ropes, she went out and became more independent, only checking up on Phoenix sometimes.
Winter
A vampire, one of founders of the dead vampire tribe called Crimson Wolves, and an artifical human created by an AI known as Rog, later interpreted as God, and called the Tyrant God. He was turned vampire, and would live until the War, where his 'father' decided to take care of him, and attempted to take control of his brain, which was partially robotic. He had asked Shaxx to kill him if that would ever happen, and he obliged.
He lived for around 70 years, dying at quite young age for vampire. In his earliest days, having no social skills, and no relationships, he believed he would need to take care of himself, and would be first vampire to kill another one, earning him the title of Oathbreaker.
Diana Welon
Diana is a witch who moved into one of the villages surrounding the Red Forest, and inevitably met Phoenix during his stay. He has used magic and knowledge of medicine that witches possess, to change his body and adjust his genitalia. When he spends time with Phoenix, they both find words and expressions for their gender, both knowing they are somewhat masculine yet never quite aligning with manhood, and Diana allows Nix to use xe/xyr pronouns for himself.
Upon finding out Phoenix's deal with the witch that performed his own gender surgeries, he offered to either help with the lingering pain and unfinished changes Phoenix was so used to he was not aware of them anymore, or to perform surgery with powerful magic to change his genitalia too.
Diana also serves as character who explains magic, and that vampires are partially witches too. They channel the energy and power of nature, and it only speaks through them, while vampires can control one part of nature: blood. Phoenix's affinity to fire is not that rare, but not every vampire has it, and his ability to read memories and feelings from blood is extremely rare.
