Leo is middle child between 5 siblings. He has two younger siblings, twins Ramona and Alex, older brother Matt, older brother Sebastian, and eldest sister Gabriella/Gabi.
He grew up raised by Gabi. His mother was an addict and was never home, he basically never met his father, and only knows that all siblings do have same father, but he would only show up every few years and their mother would fall for him everytime, and be left with another child. After the twins, she left.
They grew up in a house pretty far outside of Wichbel, almost hour long walk in forest to get to the big house, his sister claimed this avoided them a lot of unnecessary money they'd have to use to sustain the house if it was in the City. He never questioned it.
He was always an artist, enjoyed drawing mostly with pencils and lead, chalk and anything that involves his hands and smudging. He grew up with his two best friends, Dean and Nathan.
Dean was a skinny, pale, freckled ginger boy, who was also an artist, and liked painting over anything.
Nathan was a black boy who wrote poetry, and they all found each other as creative outcasts others did not like to hang out with.
They'd do parallel play of creating something almost every day, they liked to watch the clouds and nature, and they'd pose for each other or be each others muses.
All of them went to creative high school, Leo focusing on drawing and history, Dean on painting, history, and biology, Nathan focusing on poetry, literature, creative writing and history. Leo found a girlfriend there, and they both wanted to go to same uni together, until she dumped him in last year.
He changed his uni to mechatronics, focusing on architecture and design of mechanics. He thought he'd get his creative juices flowing enough there, and would have regretted it terribly or even changed schools if he wouldn't meet John within a week.
The artistic uni Dean and Nate went to was in Capital, and Leo decided he might as well stay in Wichbel, where mechatronics uni was in first place.
At the beginning, John used to sleep through the last lessons, and be the only one left alone in class, and Leo stayed late too, not interested in going home, and sketched him sleeping a lot. They started talking, and became friends. John made friends easily, and Franklyn joined their friend group fast. They liked to pose for Leo's art to encourage him to keep his hobbies.
He lost contact with his other friends, and was so determined by his new friendship, that he was willing to power through anything. He never had good grades, and barely scraped through the finals, even with John's help he had to retake two.
After they both moved to Capital, he found work with Mechanical Pets, selling them and looking after them, which gave him lot of free time to do art, and was easy enough for him to not be worried. John didn't keep his promise of finding work together.
He got close to a guy in Capital City, called Oliver, who was both to him, and to Seamus, a way to replace John in relationship. He would hang out with him every other night, because he had other partners, and Leo didn't really like seeing him that often, but he liked the idea of warmth coming from the relationship. He wasn't particularly mean to him, but he wasn't as warm or nice as John would be.
He was trying to distance from him a bit when the news about Seamus being in the City came, and seeing how he treated Seamus made him realize he truly was an abusive fucker. He was glad to leave John to take care of him.
John asked him to move in, to keep him close, and while he could afford housing, he was pretty excited to be around him and more people more, so he took him up on it. He got the room right next to John's master bedroom.
When Harry returned after 2 years, he had attempted to try to get together with John, but wasn't clear about it and it lead to nothing. Harry felt pretty distant and abandoned by John and found talking to Leo helping, and they ended up spending most nights together.
Leo and Harry would date for the most of the story.
